Days 1-8
Because I love to paint flowers, I joined a 100 day floral challenge hosted by a fellow artist and friend on Instagram back in July. I’m taking my sweet time painting the flowers. How do I find inspiration to paint them? Some are purely from my imagination while others require a little research or inspiration from nature around like on my recent trip to San Francisco, where I saw so many pretty flowers I had never seen before!
So here are my first 8 that I’m sharing here. Have you seen them around?
Narcissus, White Lily, Primrose, Chrysanthemum
I see Narcissus flowers often at our local Trader Joe’s during spring and early summer. They are a joy to paint!
Over here in Texas I mostly see pink Evening Primrose flowers. But I decided to paint yellow ones.
Chamomile, Plumeria, Hibiscus, Lily
Plumerias are also known as Frangipani and they are very fragrant. I saw a lot of them and bright red Hibiscus flowers growing up in India.
More flowers coming up soon. Stay tuned!
